Cornwall asks tourists not to visit without negative Covid test

Visit Cornwall is asking tourists not to come unless they have pre-booked their trip, and they should take a Covid test. The country is experiencing a worrying spike in Covid cases.

Visit Cornwall CEO Malcolm Bella is requesting visitors take a lateral flow test before, during and after their stay.

Both Devon and Cornwall had more than 500 cases per 100,000 population in the week to 18 August, which is almost double the previous week.

Earlier this month Newquay hosted the Boardmasters festival, which has been linked to nearly 5,000 Covid cases.
