Austin Adventures merges with New Zealand's Active Adventures






Montana based Austin Adventures has announced it is merging operations with Queenstown, New Zealand tour operator Active Adventures.


The merger will ensure the respective customers have access to a broader range of destinations and trip experiences, they say.


Both companies specialize in small group adventure trips


"Travel today is not just about choosing a destination. Now more than ever, it's about how'we travel," said Wendy van Lieshout, CEO of the new merged business.


"To expand our offerings to our loyal customers, it was critical we find a like-minded brand to join forces with.."


The merged business combines 100+ adventure trip offerings across the globe, more departure dates available throughout the year, as well as two customer service teams in different time zones, providing extended hours .


Now, Austin Adventures' tours will be available for booking on Active Adventures' website, bolstering the tour portfolio with trips in the US, Canada, and Central America for both brands.


Active Adventures' hiking, biking, and kayaking tours in New Zealand, South America, Europe, the Himalayas, and Africa will be available to plan and book on the Austin Adventures' website.


"We were founded in different countries, yet our companies have very similar stories," said Dan Austin, founder of Austin Adventures.


The two businesses have 60 years of combined experience in their respective markets.
