India air pollution cutting years off life expectancy

Due to the most dangerous levels of air pollution on the planet, he average Indian could see life expectancy cut by nearly six years, according to the Air Quality Life Index report.

It says 480 million people live in pollution levels more than 10 times higher than those anywhere else . In badly affected Delhi and Kolkata, people on average could see life expectancy drop by nine years, the report estimates, based on 2019 data.

The top five countries with the highest average number of years lost are all in Asia and even includes Singapore.
