Costa Rica tour guides acquitted in tourist rafting death case

A Costa Rica court acquitted tour guides who were charged with negligence contributing to the death  of four American tourists. Two brothers and the owner of rafting company Quepoa Expeditions were found not guilty. 

The Naranjito river accident in 2018 killed five people in total with survivors criticizing safety standards.

A total of 14 tourists were on the rafting trip and survivors claimed they had not been warned of the dangerous rainy season rafting conditions.
