Langkawi travel bubble set to open this month

Langkawi will kick off its travel bubble opening on 16 September. It marks the return of tourism for Malaysia and will initially be open for domestic tourists. The reopening plan is loosely based on the 'sandbox' scheme in Phuket.

Other tourist destinations will be allowed to open once local vaccination rates reach 80% Malaysia PM Ismail Sabri said. Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Nancy Shukr said it will be a much-needed boost to the struggling tourism industry.
