Travel industry pushback over mandatory vaccination for domestic flights

Dr. Anthony Fauci's backing of mandatory vaccinations for air travel is unsurprisingly facing pushback from the travel industry

Air travel is 'overwhelmingly' safe, the U.S. Travel Association says, after Fauci said 'if you want to get on a plane and travel with other people that you should be vaccinated.'

"U.S. Travel has long maintained that there should be no mandatory vaccination requirement for domestic travel. Such a policy would have an unfair, negative impact on families with young children who are not yet eligible to get the vaccine," said  Tori Emerson Barnes, U.S. Travel Association EVP of public affairs.

"While U.S. Travel does not endorse a national vaccine mandate, we continue to believe that vaccines are the fastest path back to normalcy for all, and we strongly encourage all who are eligible to get a vaccine immediately."

There is as yet no push to make vaccinations compulsory for air travel although Democrat Rep. Don Beyer last week tabled legislation requiring it or a negative Covid test for planes and Amtrak trains.

Although he supports a vaccination mandate, Dr. Fauci isn't proposing it and there is no sign at  the  momment that the government will either.

Thank you US Travel Association. If we let all this mandates get approved, there will not be a travel industry. CDC has no power, but all the mega companies want to follow.
