Japanese video game maker Nintendo is teaming up with Universal to bring to life its video game characters in rides and attractions at Universal theme parks.
The companies gave few initial details, releasing a statement saying it would include "spectacular, dedicated experiences based on Nintendo's wildly popular games, characters and worlds with immersive experiences."
More details would be announced as the two companies' creative teams start work on theme park concepts.
"We've long been considering the theme park business as a possibility provided we could find a good partner," Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata said during a news conference in Kyoto, Japan.
