We've come undone: American Airlines bolts loose seats back to the floor

After three American Airlines flights in a row had seats come unbolted inflight, the airline has instructed mechanics to fix floor mounts in 48 of its 757s to prevent the same slippage from happening again.

The airlines says that "additional preventative steps" will be taken to keep the mechanism that locks the seats in place.

50 flights were cancelled Thursday and 44 on Friday due to the maintenance.  The airline says the work will be finished by Saturday.

The cancellations come as the airline continues to struggle with union negotiations, unofficial work stoppages and pilot sick-outs.
