Delta launching seasonal Lisbon flights from Boston

Delta Air Lines is adding new transatlantic service linking Boston with Lisbon, Portugal.

The summer seasonal route will become the airline's fifth international service out of Boston Logan, operating from May 23 through September 3, 2018.

Delta will deploy Boeing 757 jets on the route which have 20 seats in Delta Premium Select, 29 in Delta Comfort Plus and 150 seats in the main economy cabin.

"Delta is thrilled to offer our customers one more additional European destination next summe. Greater Boston has a large Portuguese community and this new service will provide a valuable link for residents on both sides of the Atlantic," said Charlie Schewe, Delta's director — New England Sales.

Delta also flies out of Boston Logan to London-Heathrow, Amsterdam, Paris and Dublin.

While adding Lisbon service in Boston, Delta is cutting back at its Atlanta hub.

It said the seasonal Atlanta-Lisbon service won't return in summer 2019.
