Delta Air Lines adds Boston flights

Delta Air Lines is filling some of the gaps in its network out of Boston to major business destinations.

The carrier will add flights to Chicago O'Hare, Newark, Washington DC and Cleveland.

From September 2019, Delta will fly from Boston Logan to Washington National six times a day, resuming a route it dropped six years ago.

It will operate five times a day to Chicago O'Hare, and four-times daily to Newark.

The new flights begin with three times daily Cleveland service from April 1, 2019.

"Beginning next fall Delta will offer service to the five top business markets requested by our corporate customers," says Delta president Glen Hauenstein.

With these latest services Delta will operate more than 150 peak day flights from Boston Logan.

It currently has a 17% share of the Boston market just shy of American Airlines' 18%  and dominant player JetBlue which has nearly a third of market share.
