AirAsia adding two more routes from Lombok

Budget carrier AirAsia is expanding its network from new hub Lombok.

It is adding domestic flights to Java cities Surabaya and Yogyakarta.

Flights launch on November 25 and 26 respectively with four weekly flights to Surabaya and three to Yogyakarta.

Both routes will be operated on Airbus A320 aircraft.

"The routes also provide options for travelers in Lombok who wish to extend their vacation to destinations in East Java and Yogyakarta, and vice versa," said Veranita Yosephine, deputy CEO of AirAsia Indonesia.

Tickets are live on the airline's website and app, starting from IDR446,000 (about US$34.00).

AirAsia recently inaugurated the Lombok hub with its second international route to Perth.

It has since expanded with domestic routes to Jakarta and Bali-Denpasar.

Additionally, Travelmole has learned the airline has been in discussions this month to possibly launch additional overseas routes to Melbourne and Singapore.
