Philippine Airlines launching new Perth flights

Philippine Airlines is relaunching flight from its Manila hub to Perth, WA.

The route will start in March 2020 operating four times a week.

The route will be served by 168-seat Airbus A321neo, which include a dozen fully flat business class seats.

Manila is one of Perth's fastest growing markets, says airport chief executive Kevin Brown.

"We experienced a growth of 15% in the market this year, meaning 90,000 passengers travelled between Perth and the Philippines in 2019," he said.

The route adds an extra 70,000 seats in the market.

"We had already been able to add around 400,000 seats of capacity into Perth over the past 12 months from our key Asian markets," Brown added.

PAL will hope to make the Perth route a success this time.

It last served Perth six years ago but suspended flights a short time after it launched.
