SideStep acquires TravelPost.com

Online travel search firm SideStep has acquired hotel reviews and ratings site TravelPost.com.

In two years TravelPost.com claims to have generated almost 500,000 reviews, photos and blogs which will be incorporated into SideStep's real-time online search information available.

TravelPost reviews are integrated with a travel blogging community in which travellers are able to write about their experiences, post photos from their trips, and keep track of where they've travelled on an interactive world map.

SideStep will integrate TravelPost.com's travel planning content into its site over the coming months, matching travellers to the hotels that best meet their needs with travel advice from people with similar interests.

Rob Solomon, president and CEO of SideStep said: "The expansion of user-generated content is a powerful trend, and this acquisition allows SideStep to rapidly accelerate its offerings and capture a leadership position in this exciting transformation."
