Survey debunks business travel myths

The problem of lost airline bags are getting worse and catching up with work is the favorite activity of waiting passengers, right?

Not necessarily, says a new Orbitz for Business Study in its Take 5 Poll. Correcting some stereotypes:

  • The overwhelming majority of travelers, 75%, have not lost any luggage in the last year and more than one-third report never having lost a bag. 

  • Lost baggage is not their biggest peeve either. Only 4% rate it there.

  • While waiting for a flight, catching up on work isn’t the most popular way for business travelers to pass the time. Instead, 59% read a book or newspaper, while 2% sleep, shop or have a meal.
“In some ways, business travel today has become increasingly difficult, as last month’s Orbitz for Business corporate traveler survey found,” concluded Orbitz. 
”However, April’s poll reveals a positive trend, finding lost luggage incidents have little, if anything to do with the difficulties some business travelers have recently experienced.”
