EVA Air to run upgraded B747-400 on London route

EVA Air is to deploy a newly refitted Boeing 747-400 on the London-Bangkok-Taipei route.

The Taiwanese carrier has upgraded the aircraft into a three-class configuration, with first class dropped from December 1.

The move to the 372-passenger 747 on the London route from December 4 is being marked with the airline offering a special agents’ commission of seven per cent.

The aircraft will offer Premium Laurel business class, Elite Class premium economy and Economy Class services.

The refurbished B747-400 is being configured to seat 36 passengers in Premium Laurel, 56 in Elite and 280 in Economy Class.

All passengers have access to personal audio/video on demand (AVOD) systems offering movies, TV programmes, music and video games, plus a digital air-to-ground short message service (SMS) in English and Chinese, compatible with email and mobile phone accounts.

Premium Laurel Class Seats are configured in a 2-2-2 arrangement, with a 61-inch pitch and are 22-inches wide. An espresso maker and wine chiller are part of the in-flight facilities. Passengers can also pre-order meals online at www.evaair.com.

Elite Class is configured with seats in a 2-4-2 arrangement with a 38-inch pitch, and 19.5-inch width.

The new economy seats are in a 3-4-3 configuration with a 33 inch pitch and 18.3 inch width, equipped with 8.4-inch LCD touch screens.
