Management reshuffle set to take TTA into a 'new era'

The Travel Trust Association has made two appointments to strengthen its key management team.

Simon Hargreaves, former direct business director for Lloyds TSB, has been appointed to the new position of managing director while Gary Lewis, TTA's former head of operations, has become operations director.

“We want to bring in new ideas and fresh blood," said director Todd Carpenter.

“In the past we have focused purely on the trade, offering outsourced trade services and financial protection for our members.

"But now we will start to market to the consumer by offering a compelling value added proposition that will attract more business to our members.

"We are starting a brand new chapter of business development at the TTA and we aim to ensure that members benefit.”

Carpenter said the appointments were part of a much bigger plan of business development for TTA.

“Simon Hargreaves has extensive experience that will be of critical importance in taking TTA into a new era of success and expansion.

"He has taken advantage of market shifts, for example, with the migration from phone to internet.”

Before working at Lloyds TSB, Hargreaves worked for Accenture Consulting where he was responsible for the sales and delivery for a wide range of clients, specialising in large scale transformation programmes within financial services.
