Results of TravelMole 2009 Web Awards - see pictures

The winners of the 2009 Travelmole UK Web Awards have been unveiled today (click here for photos).

The victorious companies, voted for by Travelmole susbscribers and judged by an independent panel, were announced at the awards ceremony attended by around 200 people from across the industry at Canada House in London.

In total, the sixth annual awards received over 300 nominations and more than 15,000 votes were cast.

The judging panel consisted of Peter Healey, founder and chief executive of The Vertical Group; former Teletext m-d Matt Cheevers, now m-d of consultancy business Smooth Direction; Helena Beard, marketing director at KBC PR and Marketing; Jérôme Moisan, Travelport general manager UK & Ireland; and Liz Craig, founder of Oneglobe Network, a boutique digital agency.

Sponsors of this year's awards were the Canadian Tourism Commission, and Travelport GDS. The after show party sponsor was Vertical Group.

  • Congratulations

I would like to offer my congratulations to all the nominees and particularly to the winners. It was a pleasure to judge the awards, and fiendishly difficult to pick a winner in some of the categories, but great to meet some of you yesterday. Well done!

  • An excellent awards ceremony

Many thanks to TravelMole and sponsors for a well organised and fun awards ceremony. I am sure I speak for many to pass thanks to all involved in creating this event and networking opportunity. This was our first appearance, and we hope to return again when we are stronger.
