Green Circuit - Indian Trails Open For Business

Fiona Jeffery with the 5 operators at WTM
4 Indian and 1 Nepalese operators group together to provide responsible holidays.
The Green Circuit was officially launched by Fiona Jeffery, Chairman of World Travel Market and the Just a Drop Foundation at last week's WTM.
The series of Indian & Nepalese Trails is an eco-tourism loop; a series of tours with a definitive focus on natural and cultural heritage that link together to create an ultimate all sub continent eco-adventure.
Fiona Jeffery said "At a time when tour operators compete with each other for every segment of travel business, it's a pleasure to see 5 responsible tourism operators from the Indian sub-continent come together to provide responsible holidays. I am glad to know that the GREEN Circuit operators from Nepal, Western and Eastern Himalayas, Orissa and South India are using tourism as a tool to uplift the quality of their natural and cultural heritage by working with local communities at a grass roots level. The Green Circuit is an initiative that should be replicated in other parts of the world to strengthen the Responsible Tourism movement"
Initiated by in Nepal, the Green Circuit is a partnership between five responsible tourism operators throughout the Indian Sub-continent. Socialtours, Help Tourism, Grass Routes, The Blue Yonder and Ecosphere all specialise in deep-rooted community based responsible tourism initiatives.
The Green Circuit unites experts in their respective regions covering destinations in Nepal, the Himalayas, the North East and East India and the southern tip.
Rather than competing against each other as traditional tourism businesses often do, the Green Circuit network comes together in the spirit of collaboration. Each tour operator in the Green Circuit is a committed expert in their chosen field offering unique tourism product specific to local environmental and cultural conditions.
Tapping into the Green Circuit links provides crucial links to a trusted independent network. That each operator finds faith and sincerity in the other"s work is a huge vote of confidence that speaks volumes about the integrity behind the Green Circuit and the circle of trust uniting each responsible tourism partner.
