Holiday home site says UK retains popularity for 2010

The UK is the most enquired about destination and the top choice for an Easter break, according to holiday home website

Despite suggestions that the staycation boom will not last into 2010 because of last year’s bad weather, the site has received 2.5 million visits since the start of 2010 and says the UK topped the charts for enquiries. It is also the second most popular choice for February half term breaks after the Canary Islands and the third favourite summer holiday destination, behind Spain and France.
The site has seen a 55% year on year increase in visits in January. However, no data is available as to full year visitor numbers.
Managing director Ross Elder said: “2010 has begun at lightening pace. We’re delighted to see that the value and space factors associated with renting a holiday home remain prominent ideals during this peak booking period and that more people than ever are seeking this type of holiday.”
