VESTAS Nominations close

The new sustainable tourism award is set for ITB with nominations from 20 European certification agencies.

Hard on the heels of VISTA AsiaPacific awards being announced at SATTE, the European sustainable tourism awards have closed..

The enormously wide range of nominations includes a kaleidoscope of sustainable tourism initiatives in Europe from tiny B&B"s to whole destinations.

All the nominations will be featured at the ceremony at ITB on Friday 11th March in Hall 4.

VESTA partners who submitted nominations are:

  • Blue Flag Croatia
  • Blue Flag Iceland
  • Blue Flag Slovenia

  • Eco Certification, Malta
  • Green Globe, Europe
  • Green Hospitality Programme
  • GreenTravelClub
  • Innovation Norway (Ecotourism Norway)
  • Innovation Norway (Green Travel)
  • Keep Britain Tidy
  • Legambiente Turismo
  • Pan Parks, Europe
  • Steinbock Label
  • VIABONO, Germany
  • VisitScotland

Although nominations for the main categories are now closed, VESTAS will still accept nominations for the two special categories - the "Rusty Nail" award for unsustainable tourism and the special award for "Peace through Tourism"
