124 injured in Hong Kong ferry disaster

At least 124 passengers were injured when a high-speed ferry sailing to Hong Kong from Macau capsized.

Five of the injured are said to be in a critical condition in hospital.

The ferry, with 174 people onboard, lost power and began taking in water after it hit an object in the sea near Lantau Island, said the BBC.

Many passengers suffered injuries to limbs and to their faces, said local media.
