Eurotunnel services 'back to normal' after police clashes

Passengers travelling from France through the Channel Tunnel suffered delays of up to four hours yesterday as migrants clashed with police.

Road traffic was blocked after police fired tear gas to disperse migrants from the Calais camp, several of whom had managed to board lorries, according to the AFP news agency.

Eurostar services to St Pancras were also impacted by the disruption in the tunnel and some trains were delayed up to an hour.

Eurotunnel said services were back to normal this morning. It said the queues at Calais yesterday had also been caused by additional border checks.
