Greek ferry strike

The Greek seafarers' union has called strike action later this week, impacting ferry services across the country.

It is planning a 48-hour walk-out from 6am on 22 September until 6am on 24 September.

"The strike will affect all ferry services across Greece," said the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

"If you're travelling during this period contact your ferry company or tour operator for advice."

Not all ferry services will be affected. Friends in Dodecanese have been assured that their crossings are not affected because they are travelling on local private ferries. Mostly bigger ferries from/to Pireaus are affected.
