Jet Airways and Virgin expand codeshare

Jet Airways and Virgin Atlantic have extended their codeshare agreement between India and the US, improving connectivity via London Heathrow.

From April 19, Jet Airways passengers travelling between India and the US can connect through Heathrow on to nine US destinations operated by Virgin Atlantic - Atlanta, Boston, Newark, Washington (IAD), New York, Los Angeles, Miami, and San Francisco. From May 1 they can also travel to Seattle.

This expansion builds on an agreement between the two airlines signed in e 2009.

In 2015 this codeshare was extended on to Jet Airways' domestic services to five destinations across India via Delhi or Mumbai.

  • Inconvenience.

This codeshare underlines what is wrong with a bigger Heathrow with a new runway and two new terminals, the connection time - probably will be 4 hours at least between flights. Getting from T4 to T3 is bad enough, imagine when you have to go from T4 to T7....all that way from south to north. It's gonna get as big as a dinosaur and die off like them too. This codeshare is hardly seamless.
