Flybe to launch new Hamburg service

Flybe is to launch a year-round service between Birmingham and Hamburg in July.

The announcement follows news that budget airline Blue Air is dropping its Hamburg service from Liverpool airport this summer. The carrier blamed lack of demand.

Flybe will offer up to four flights a week, starting on July 10. Additional frequencies will be added for the winter.

The airline has also announced the appointment of former director general of the European Regions Airline Association Simon McNamara as its new director of communications.
