Aer Lingus launches largest ever winter schedule

Aer Lingus has added 300,000 extra seats to Europe and North America to its winter schedule, its largest ever.

On September 1, the airline starts a new Dublin to Miami service operating three times a week.

This is in addition to existing flights to Boston, Chicago, New York, Orlando, San Francisco, Washington, Los Angeles, Newark, Hartford and Toronto via Dublin and Boston and New York via Shannon.

In total, there will be 350 additional transatlantic flights, representing a 13% increase in capacity year on year.

The Dublin to Toronto service will see a 96% increase in capacity with four flights per week operated on a larger Airbus A330.

The Dublin to Washington service will become daily during peak months, a 44% capacity rise.

Meanwhile, Aer Lingus' UK and European networks will also enjoy significant expansion this winter.

Birmingham to Dublin gets 50,000 additional seats and the London Heathrow to Dublin service will get an extra additional early morning flight resulting in 56,000 extra seats.

Capacity has been increased to key European cities such as Hamburg, operating up to 10 flights per week, double the frequency of last year, as well as Zurich, also operating 10 services per week.

Dublin-Bilbao is a brand new winter route, flying three times a week.
