Dnata takes legal action against executives who defected

Travel 2 and Gold Medal's parent company dnata Travel has confirmed that it is taking legal action against members of its management team who defected to rival If Only.

The action is believed to have prevented four of the five executives from taking up their new roles at the luxury holiday specialist this month.

When asked to comment on the matter, dnata would only say that 'legal proceedings are still ongoing'.

Former Travel 2 and Gold Medal managing director Andy Freeth, sales director Gordon McCreadie, product and commercial director Matt Appleby, head of sales Tracy Hirsz and Travel 2 business manager David Irving all resigned in June.

Four of them were due to join If Only earlier this month, while Freeth is due to take up the reigns as the trade-only operator's chief executive on December 1.
