Family ski market hots up for Club Med

Club Med's focus on the family market has resulted in a 25% year-on-year increase in winter bookings from guests holidaying with children.

The operator says extensive facilities and activities tailored for kids and teenagers are proving popular.

For example, Club Med's new flagship resort Grand Massif Samoens offers kids' clubs from four months to 17 years, with a children's dedicated ski room and snow garden as well as an indoor and outdoor heated pool.

Grand Massif Samoens is among Club Med's top-five performing ski resorts of the year, attracting seasoned and first-time skiers alike

Good snowfall has seen last-minute bookings throughout the season, the operator says.

To add to its expanding winter portfolio, Club Med has committed to opening one new resort in the French Alps every year until 2021.

Next season, Les Arcs Panorama will open within Paradiski in France, bringing a contemporary design and high-end accommodation to Les Arcs.

Club Med UK and Scandinavia MD Estelle Giraudeau, said: "Our customers see the value in all-inclusive ski holidays where everything is included and paid for upfront.

"This protects customers against ever-fluctuating exchange rates and hidden costs with the simple security of a low deposit.

"Therefore, we continue to be extremely proud of our unique all-inclusive ski offering and our year-on-year results continue to show how our clients value the exclusive experience we provide on the slopes during the winter season.

"The 2017/2018 results to date lay strong foundations ahead of two of our most exciting ski resort openings to date."
