Shorefield Holidays buys eighth park

Shorefield Holidays Ltd has acquired an eighth park as part of its growth strategy.

The group, which already owns seven parks across Hampshire and Dorset, has bought Wilksworth Farm Caravan Park in Wimborne Minster, Dorset.

Now known as Wilksworth Caravan Park, the site features touring and camping pitches and a holiday home ownership development.

It also includes a Grade 2 listed building once owned by Henry VIII and mentioned in the Doomsday Book.

Simon Pollock, chairman and managing director of Shorefield Holidays, said: "This acquisition is part of our strategy for growth as we have seen a significant rise in popularity of staycationing as people realise they don't need to go abroad to experience amazing holidays.

"We have also seen increasing numbers of families buying holiday homes both as a way of easily exploring what Dorset and the New Forest has to offer all year round, as well as a way of spending quality time with family and friends. We are looking forward to welcoming all of Wilksworth's past, current and future guests into the Shorefield Holidays family for 2018 and beyond."
