TUI reveals 'most ambitious programme ever'

TUI UK has revealed details of its summer 2019 programme, which includes 720,000 extra seats, more 10 and 11-night stays and more regional airport departures.

In addition, there are 40 new routes and 16 TUI or First Choice branded resorts, including Holiday Village and SplashWorld.

Key to overall growth is what the operator describes as a 'dynamic regional aviation plan' with new routes from 15 UK airports, 65% of which are unique to TUI.

The move opens up new mid and short haul destinations to passengers who want to fly from a nearby airport.

The biggest numbers will fly out of Doncaster Sheffield, Manchester, Cardiff, Birmingham, East Midlands and Glasgow Airports, which between them will fly 60% of TUI's customer growth on holiday.

Additional capacity has been added to Croatia, Greece and Turkey. There will also be 200,000 seats available to the popular African islands of Cape Verde.

Prices have not yet been revealed for the programme, which goes on sale on April 5.

Five adult-only TUI Sensimar Resorts will be added, one each in the Greek islands of Crete, Zakynthos and Santorini, one in Dalaman, Turkey and one in Agadir, Morocco.

A new TUI Family Life Resort has been added in the Turkish resort of Antalya while a First Choice Holiday Village will open in Playa Blanca, Lanzarote (pictured above and below).

First Choice will also open a SplashWorld in the Red Sea resort of Marsa Alam in summer 2019, while a SplashWorld will open in the Dominican Republic in December 2018.

More 10- and 11-night options are available across all destinations, with short and mid-haul deposits of £50 per person and £125 per person for long-haul.

TUI UK and Ireland commercial director Richard Sofer said: "Summer 2019 is the most ambitious programme we have ever introduced.

"Our intention is to open up new possibilities to existing customers whilst attracting new holiday makers to the TUI and First Choice brands. This is just the first step in an exciting vision which will evolve over the next 12 months and beyond."
