Tamarin Hotel on Mauritius to close for six-month refurb

Veranda's Tamarin Hotel, in Tamarin Bay on Mauritius, has closed to undergo an extensive six-month renovation.

It will reopen in October under the new name of Veranda Tamarin Hotel & Spa.

Originally built in 1970, the hotel renovation is set to preserve the historical soul of the hotel, but also to renew it with a fresh, authentic and trendy look, appealing to young guests who seek to immerse themselves in the local community.

At the re-launch in October, the three-star-plus property will offer an additional 50 new rooms as well as refurbished existing ones, bringing the total to 116 rooms.

A new feature will be a Seven Colours Spa to extend a wellness offering, and a rooftop pool and bar with panoramic views over Tamarin Bay.
