Jet2 continues tormenting passengers with Jess Glynne track

Jet2.com is refusing to change the music it plays onboard its aircraft despite a public backlash against the pop star Jess Glynne's track Hold my Hand.

Passengers have bombarded Twitter to complain that the airline plays the recording up to 10 times on a single flight.

One passenger said he would never fly Jet2 again after being forced to listen to the song repeatedly. Another said the track was played eight times before take-off.

One passenger was so fed up she messaged the airline directly asking them to 'pls give Jess Glynn a rest'. The response? Jet2tweets replied: "We're sorry to hear that you're not a fan of the song and we'll be sure to pass this on to the team! We find Jess Glynne gets us in the holiday spirit."

Jet2 has also been using Jess Glynne in its advertising campaigns for the past two years.

When asked by TravelMole if the airline planned to switch tracks on its flight, a spokeswoman said: "Our Hold My Hand concept is very popular with customers, and we receive a huge amount of positive feedback about both the advert and the song."

  • If I want to hear music...

...then I go to a concert or some other event where it's played. I board an aircraft to go somewhere, not to listen to someone else's choice of music. Similarly, when I go to a pub or restaurant I go there to eat and drink, not to listen to music that someone else has chosen for me. I do not know who Jess Glyn is, neither do I care. And were I at all interested then I would listen to her on a record or online. Silence, Jet2, is golden; let us enjoy it and leave allow those who want background music to listen to their own recordings.
