Tour op accused of botching Bocelli trip

Leger Holidays has apologised to customers who complained they were 'misled' over a trip to see Andrew Bocelli perform as part of an Italy coach tour.

A number of British holidaymakers said they believed they would be treated to a summer concert in rural Tuscany by Andrea Bocelli, with 'special guests', but instead they saw a little-known 19th-century~opera in which Bocelli had a minor role.

One customer told the~Daily Mail she had expected to see the opera singer perform with the likes of Ed Sheeran or Barbra Streisand, who he has performed with at previous concerts.

In a letter to customers, Leger Holidays said it was also unaware of the details of the concert, which was in Bocelli's hometown of Lajatico.

"[We] must categorically stress to you that we, like many other independent visitors of the performance, were not made aware that the concert was due to be an opera, as naturally we would have made you and your fellow guests aware of the information," it said.

"Nonetheless... I am truly sorry for the prolonged disappointment you have been caused by the performance of Andrea Bocelli, and if you believe you have been misled by Leger Holidays."

In a statement, a spokesman for Leger Holidays added: "We are particularly concerned regarding the disappointment our customers have experienced and we are liaising with our guests individually."
