Eurostar's weekend train service hit by bomb discovery

Eurostar was forced to cancel a handful of trains between London and Paris and re-route its Disneyland Paris service on Sunday following the discovery of  an unexploded WWII bomb at the Gare du Nord in Paris.

As a result, it advised passengers due to travel at the weekend to change their plans.

Also, the train operator has announced a further six cancellations on services between London and Paris on Monday and Tuesday for operational reasons.

Two trains between London and Brussels were cancelled on Saturday while attempts were made to neutralise the bomb. Further attempts were made on Sunday.

In a statement, Eurostar said: "We are sorry for the impact this will have on our customers and would strongly advise anyone scheduled to travel with us between London and Paris this weekend to consider changing their plans."

Free refunds or exchanges have been offered passengers who were booked to travel over the weekend.

The following trains have been cancelled on Monday and Tuesday:      


  • 9006 : London St Pancras to Paris Nord (departing 07:31)
  • 9050 : London St Pancras to Paris Nord (departing 19:01)
  • 9055 : Paris Nord to London St Pancras (departing 19:06)

  • 9013 : Paris Nord to London St Pancras (departing 08:37)
  • 9014 : London St Pancras to Paris Nord (departing 09:22)
  • 9055 : Paris Nord to London St Pancras (departing 19:06)

Passengers already booked are being offered an exchange or refund.
