Record revenue posted by Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland Resort posted record high revenue in 2018, and 8% growth in attendance to 6.7 million.

Growth was recorded in local, Mainland China and international markets, with big gains from Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.

It also saw increased occupancy at the park's hotels.

The Mainland China market represents more than one-third of all visitors.

It has now welcomed more than 77 million visitors since opening in 2005.

"HKDL continued to strengthen its appeal as the ideal vacation destination," said Stephanie Young, MD of Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

Young points to new attractions launched in 2018 including 'Moana: A Homecoming Celebration' and the global debut of new Disney character 'Cookie.'

It also broadened its appeal in the local market with the first-ever large-scale outdoor concerts and the signature 10K Weekend running events.

The park's marvel themed attraction portfolio expands on March 31 this year with the opening of a new 'Ant Man' interactive themed ride.
