Ski specialist fails after 43 years in business

Ski specialist Ski Val has ceased trading after 43 years in business.

The company, based in Tavistock, traded under the names Val Ski and Ski Val Ltd.

The CAA said consumers due to travel from this Saturday onwards can either get a refund for their flight or use their flight and pay again for hotel and all other elements of their holiday and claim for the cost of replacing these.

But it warned: "If you choose to travel, make sure you book the same holiday services as before, or a like for like alternative. Claims cannot exceed the total cost of the original ATOL package booking."

It also told customers that if they choose to travel they will not be protected under The Package Travel and Linked Travel Arrangements Regulations 2018.

Agents who are currently holding consumer payments not yet paid to Val-Ski Ltd are being advised not to refund consumers with these funds until they have received instructions from the Air Travel Trust.

Travel agents will be individually contacted by the CAA with specific instructions for these bookings.
