Travel agent goes on the radio to prove the value of agents

A travel agent has demonstrated the benefits of booking through the trade by calling up a national radio station.

Ushma Valerio, a consultant for Not Just Travel, heard presenters on the station talking about a £40,000 prize and discussing what they would do with the money if they won it.

"They said they wanted to go on holiday like an Instagram influencer to the Maldives but that it would take up all the £40k prize money, and I thought, that's not correct, I'm going to put them right!"

The 37-year-old, from Edgbaston near Birmingham, called the station and spoke to the team, giving them a quote for a dream Maldives trip for under £4,700 for two people, meaning the presenters could go to the Maldives eight times with the prize money.
