Two Royal Caribbean cruise ships will make overnight calls in Tokyo during next year's 2020 Olympic Games.
The special cruise itineraries will sail into the city's new cruise terminal at Tokyo's brand-new cruise terminal at Shinkyaku Pier.
It includes the line's newest cruise ship, Spectrum of the Seas as well as Voyager of the Seas which will each sail two itineraries with stops during the Games.
Spectrum of the Seas will depart Shanghai on July 25 and August 2 to Tokyo, and Voyager will sail out of Hong Kong on July 26 and from Tokyo on August 2.
"We are proud to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime experience in Tokyo next summer," said Bert Hernandez, President, Royal Caribbean China.
Tokyo's government is also tapping the cruise industry to beef up its room inventory for the Olympic Games.
It has reached agreement for MSC Lirica to moor in Tokyo Bay as a floating hotel, and travel group JTB is chartering the Sun Princess cruise liner which will dock in Yokohama for the duration of the Games.
