Aparthotels Adagio announces expansion drive

Aparthotels Adagio is planning to nearly double its portfolio by 2023 to 220 properties worldwide, including 170 in Europe.

By the end of this year, the brand will have 116 aparthotels with more than 13,000 apartments in 13 countries.

New openings planned this summer include two in Paris, one near the Place de la Nation and another just a few steps from the Grand Place of Lille.

There are also new openings planned in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia and Leicester in the UK by the end of 2019.

The brand has also just opened new properties in Bremen and Casablanca.

Thomas Lamson, chief development & projects officer, said: "2019 marks a major turning point for Adagio. Beyond the many openings scheduled, we plan to sign more than 20 new contracts worldwide this year. These new signings are regardless of the management mode, whether they're lease, management or franchise.

"The dynamism of all teams and the local presence of developers in major markets such as the UK, Germany or France are essential to quickly meet the needs of our partners."

A number of Adagio properties are already signed and under construction for 2020 and beyond.

In the UK, the Adagio London Stratford is due to open in April 2020 on the site of the 2012 London Olympic Games.~The aparthotel will have 136 apartments, communal areas and the brand's new breakfast: la Manufacture Gourmande.

At the end of the 2021 the 162-room Adagio Glasgow will open on the corner of Clyde and Dixon Street and next to the River Clyde.

Other aparthotels are due to open in Brussels, Kiel, Suresnes, Zurich, Dubai, Freiburg, Bucharest and Sochi in Russia.
