Jane McDonald to charter own ship

TV star Jane McDonald is chartering a ship for her own exclusive seven-night itinerary next year.

Called Sail Away with Jane McDonald, the itinerary will operate on Royal Caribbean's Anthem of the Seas in September 2020, out of Southampton.

The cruise calls at Cherbourg in France, Vigo in Spain and Lisbon in Portugal. Tickets went on sale at the weekend.

As well as seeing the star perform during the cruise, passengers will also get to enjoy a special 'Audience With' event where she will be interviewed live on stage about her life and career.

McDonald shot to fame on the TV documentary The Cruise, where she worked as a cabaret singer with Celebrity Cruises. Her TV series Cruising with Jane McDonald has won several awards, including a BAFTA.

She will be onboard for the duration of the cruise making special appearances throughout the ship.

McDonald said: "I can't begin to tell you how excited I am to be having my own special cruise. As everyone knows, I'm just a trueYorkshire lass who loves performing and enjoying a cruise or two, so it makes perfect sense to charter my own ship.

"This is something I've wanted to do for a long time so to finally have the opportunity to invite everyone to come on holiday with me is very exciting. We'll have a whale of a time and I can't wait to see everyone there."

The cruise departs Southampton on September 20, 2020. Prices start at £649 per person for four people sharing a cabin, £999 per person for two sharing and £1,899 per person in a suite.
