NCL names first chief sales officer

Norwegian Cruise Line has appointed Katina Athanasiou to the newly created role of chief sales officer.

Athanasiou is responsible for leading sales strategy across all third-party booking channels and strengthening relationships with all travel trade partners.

She reports to chief executive officer Andy Stuart.

"It is more important now than ever that we enhance our efforts and have a laser focus on driving results. We are very excited that Katina will lead the team in delivering truly meaningful results," Stuart said.

She was SVP of charters and MICE responsible for full-ship charters and corporate and incentive groups across all NCLH brands.

Prior to that Athanasiou was in charge of MICE sales functions for Oceania Cruises and Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

She has spent more than 20 years in the cruise industry.

"I am thrilled to work alongside our travel advisors and support everything our Partners First philosophy embodies," Athanasiou said.
