Companies hold off ad investment due to Brexit jitters

Brand agency Designate says travel companies are holding off investing in advertising because of fears about Brexit.

Speaking to TravelMole's Graham McKenzie, Designate founder Adam Hill said: "People are saying we just have to wait and see what happens."

Hill said he had two or three clients who were 'taking the brave view' and continuing to invest. "Now is the time to get your brand laid down correctly...so you stand out while everyone else is standing still," he added.

Drawing a parallel with 9/11, he said after the tragedy in New York, most airlines - including his one-time client British Airways - pulled all their advertising, but easyJet carried on. "As a result, easyJet didn't have to run back up the hill," he said, adding that people need to 'crack on'.
