JFK Uber Copter service now available for all riders

Uber has now opened its helicopter ride option to New York JFK Airport to all users.

The Uber Copter has so far been only available to Platinum and Diamond loyalty members.

All Uber users with the iOS app can now book the service which costs $200 to $225 per rider.

It includes Uber rides by road to and from the heliports, as well as the short chopper ride.

Uber uses operator HeliFlite for the airborne portion of the journey.

Two of Heliflite's helicopters are used for the service, which can accomodate six passengers.

According to Uber it could 'pave the way for a future all-electric Uber Air ride-sharing network.'

It is available anywhere in Manhattan south of Houston Street and other select areas which offer access to the West Side Highway.
