At Manchester, it is adding four aircraft and introducing a new route to Skiathos, operating two flights a week from early May until September.

It has already added Preveza in Greece, Zada in Croatia and Tivat in Montenegro from Manchester, Thomas Cook's hub.

At Birmingham, Jet2 will deploy three extra aircraft and will introduce flights to Skiathos and Barcelona.

It has already announced new routes to Preveza, Budapest, Kefalonia, Murcia and Nice. and Jet2holidays CEO Steve Heapy said the extra capacity was a 'significant investment'.

  • Some Greek islands no flights 2020

It is a shame they are not picking up the Thomas Cook flights to Lesvos, which will have no available charter flights 2020 after Thomas Cook's demise. Apparently Nielson have chartered a weekly flight to Lesvos from Manchester & Stanstead for their exclusive use for Aeolian Beach resort outside Skala eresou, but the island small hotels will struggle after not being paid for much of this year then the prospect of no English charter tourists next year. Similar from Germany this year, no direct flights after collapse of Air Berlin in 2018. People who love the island will travel via Athens, but probably no new tourists and other regulars will turn to other destinations they can get to direct.
