United Airlines partners with Timeshifter app to ease passenger jet lag

United Airlines is teaming up with Timeshifter, an app which helps travelers beat the effects of jet lag.

The app was developed by top sleep researchers and scientists and offers options for travelers crossing three or more timezones.

It creates customized plans for users based on a number of factors such as sleep patterns, flight times and personal preferences.

"We want to do everything we can to help improve the experience of traveling across time zones, whether it's a business trip to Tel Aviv or a vacation to Tahiti, our customers should arrive feeling fresh and ready," said Luc Bondar, vice president of loyalty and president of MileagePlus.

"Timeshifter takes all the guesswork out of avoiding jet lag and instead uses science and algorithms to design a customized, step-by-step trip across time zones."

United's MileagePlus members will have complimentary access to a Timeshifter jet lag plan and Premier 1K members can make use of a free subscription with multiple plans.

Annual memberships normally cost $24.99.
