Open Destinations signs deal with rail operator in Australia

Australian railway operator Queensland Rail has signed a multi-million dollar agreement with Open Destinations to use its Travel Studio enterprise technology platform.

It has selected the platform to be the new travel booking system for its long-distance travel and tourism business.

Open Destinations has now implemented Travel Studio in over 30 countries worldwide, with clients including Great Southern Rail, Belmond, and Alaska Railroad.

Travel Studio is also used as a reservation system for tour operators, destination management companies and wholesalers.

Martin Ryan, Queensland Rail executive general manager travel and tourism, said the technology allows a 'streamlined and more straight forward' booking process and more timely communications with customers, including informing them of service alterations.
