Skiworld's tips on how to sell short ski breaks

As the winter sports season is so short, many clients find it hard to squeeze in a seven-night ski holiday, especially as the peak weeks - including Christmas, New Year and February half-term - sell out fast, so we asked the team at Skiworld to share their thoughts on how to sell clients short breaks instead:

Highlight the price

Push the fact that short breaks are a great way to still experience the mountains, sometimes at a cheaper price.  Skiworld offers short chalet breaks, from £289 per person, providing guests with the opportunity to experience the chalet product. They also offer weekend ski breaks, where guests can stay in self-catered apartments or hotels.

Choose a resort with short transfers

Ideally you want a snow-sure resort but with a short airport transfer, which can be tricky. The best resorts with virtually guaranteed snow and not too far from the airport include La Plagne and Val Thorens in France, with flights to Grenoble.

Get more for less by booking chalet breaks

Chalet catering includes breakfast, afternoon tea and a three-course dinner, with unlimited wine. This is better value all round - less spending money needed.

Look for midweek departures

Short break operators, such as Skiworld, give the option to travel midweek, when flights and transfers are much quieter.

Try out multiple resorts in one season

Saving time and money by taking a short break instead of a longer holiday, skiers and boarders can squeeze in several trips and try out multiple resorts in one season. Different resorts offer different vibes: if you are looking for a ski holiday that is as much about the après as the skiing, then Val Thorens, Tignes and Val d'Isere are the best options, but if you are heading on a short break with your family, La Plagne, Courchevel or Morzine are great options; if you would like hard-core, off-piste skiing, Chamonix is the place to go.
