Whistler's slopes to turn multicoloured for Pride

The 27th Whistler Pride and Ski Festival takes place next week, kicking off winter pride celebrations for around the world.

The event started out as a small weekend gathering of gay ski-enthusiasts in 1992 and is now one of the largest gay ski weeks in the world.

Pride week includes events, skiing, snowboarding, parties, arts, DJs and culture.

Visitors can take part in the annual Pride Ski + March, where skiers and riders glide down the slopes in a sea of colour as they descend down to the Whistler Village where anyone is welcome to join in the march through the village in celebration of diversity and inclusivity.

The event runs from January 26 to February 2.
