Ex-Thomas Cook team launches sports travel business

The former head of Thomas Cook sport and other ex-Cook colleagues have launched a new sports travel specialist.

Owned by Clarity Travel Management, Sportsbreaks.com will act as the consumer arm of the business and will offer a range of packages with travel, official tickets and accommodation.

Rob Slawson joined Clarity as director of Sports Travel in September after Thomas Cook's collapse and has been developing the business ready for a consumer launch this week.

A total of 22 former Thomas Cook sports staff are now in the team.

Thomas Cook Sport and Clarity had previously worked together on B2B sports travel.

"We are delighted to be able to launch Sportsbreaks.com to the public. A lot of hard work has gone on behind-the-scenes to ensure that our prospective customers have an array of sporting events available to choose from," said Slawson.

"Sportsbreaks.com will provide fans with great opportunities to see the very best that sport has to offer, while removing the stress from travel and accommodation searching, allowing fans to enjoy the sights and the sports in some of the world's most desirable locations."
