JetBlue launches new trip planning tool

JetBlue has unveiled a new trip planning tool which it says provides more personalized options for add-on products.

The new platform is called ByBlue and is part of JetBlue Travel Products.

It is now live with the capability of booking rental cars via its Avis Budget partnership but will expand to other non-air products over time.

It is being marketed as 'a highly personalized platform that does the work on behalf of the customer.'

Customers get email offers based on their flight booking, such as whether it is a solo business trip or a leisure trip with the family.

Based on these criteria a vehicle type will be offered.

"From the moment they see an offer in their email, the majority of it is done in less than 90 seconds," said JetBlue Travel Products head of technology Ciprian Acatrinei.

In the coming weeks it will be updated with more ancillary products such as hotel offers and travel insurance.

JetBlue Travel Products president Andres Barry said it hopes to add a group booking tool as well as a payment processing tool.

The ByBlue tool was presented as JetBlue relaunched its updated JetBlue Vacations platform which has added more perks such as resort credits, room upgrades, and complementary airport transfers.

  • Travel advisors?

And may I ask... how does this benefit travel advisors? Jet Blue Vacations is a non-commissionable method for travel advisors.
